Renewed, Released, Rejuvenated

This year the Diocese of Sheffield have released a program which aims to revitalise our community by 2025, focusing on reaching out to others, as well as looking at ourselves and what we can do to renew and rejuvenate ourselves.  Bishop Pete talks about what we can do to help this vision in this short video here. There are also several posts about it on the Diocese website, which will be updated as we move through this Advent season.

In essence, what we are asked to do, is four small things each day.
Firstly, to pray for the movement, that it will be successful and we are able to fully engage with our wider community.
Secondly, to read this short prayer (also found on the Renewed, Released Rejuvenated bookmarks):
  Living God,
    Jesus calls his followers to seek first your Kingdom.
    Renew us as we make your love known;
    Release us to share freely together in mission;
    and Rejuvenate us to be fruitful in your service.
    Give us courage, wisdom and compassion,
    that strengthened with the grace of the Holy Spirit, we may,
    as the Dioscese of Sheffield,
    both flourish and grow
    through Christ our Lord.
Thirdly, to read the Lord's Prayer:
    Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,
    your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
    on earth as in heaven.
    Give us today our daily bread.
    Forgive us our sins
    as we forgive those who sin against us.
    Lead us not into temptation
    but deliver us from evil.
    For the kingdom, the power,
    and the glory are yours
    now and for ever.

And finally, to read one passage of scripture.
